The first important thing that should be done is to get rid of the old water from your fish tank and temporarily transfer your marine animals to the hospital tank. After that, all other objects in your main tank need to be removed in order to have a faster and easier cleaning.
Number 2. Remove excess dirt and algae – getting rid of dirt and stubborn algae in your main tank could not be easier if there’s routine cleaning performed. Before you start with the cleaning, it will be wise of you to remove everything in your aquarium. Using soft sponge is highly recommended particularly if you’re using acrylic tank. It will be smart of you to not scratch the surface while cleaning.
Number 3. Clean or replace filters -it’s better to replace the used filters rather than cleaning it over and over again. To maintain optimal operation and savings too, better replace the filter especially if it’s been reused 2 to 3 times already. As much as possible, steer clear of using soaps or detergents when cleaning the filter as these might have harmful ingredients that can affect the fish.
